PVA (Polyvinyl Alcohol) is a water-soluble polymer with distinctive properties, featuring unique chemical characteristics, physical performance and eco-friendly traits. It is widely applied in various forms including films, fibers, foams and resins. Its diverse physical forms call for tailored bonding solutions for different working conditions. Below, Hongbang introduces suitable adhesives based on three common bonding scenarios.
Fast Bonding of Plastics & Elastomers
For rapid fixation and tight lamination of substrates, SUITIT instant adhesive with low whitening and low odor is recommended. It delivers ultra-fast curing speed and superior bonding strength.
Flexible Bonding of Multi-Materials
High-performance plastic adhesives SG406 work exceptionally well for bonding PVA plastics or sponges. They boast strong initial tack, outstanding transparent elasticity and excellent weather resistance.
Bonding Metals and Hard-to-Adhere Substrates
For laminating PVA with metals or rigid substrates, two-part epoxy AB adhesive is the ideal choice. It fills gaps effectively and provides extremely high structural bonding strength.
Troubleshooting Weak Bonding
If poor adhesion occurs during bonding, first check whether the adhesive fully contacts the substrate surface and remove any oil stains or dust on the surface. After adhesive application, clamp or weight down the workpieces and leave them to stand for 24 hours. Do not put the bonded parts into service until the adhesive is fully cured.
